Fresh off his residency in Banff, genre-fluid pianist Jeremiah Cossa travels from NYC/Boston for a special night music IN the moment, at Atelier Kromatica.
Jeremiah Cossa is a boundary-crossing pianist proficient in a vast array of musical languages. He leads an exciting and unorthodox career that nimbly traverses Classical and Contemporary chamber repertoire, Jazz and Contemporary Improvisation, and several Rock projects.
Cossa is a core member of Chamber Rock ensemble Cordis, praised by Billboard for creating “sparkling moments that defy classification.” He has performed with Parlando, the NYC orchestra called “off the scale for its integrity and emotional impact” by the NY Classical Review. His punk band nurse joy was a fixture of the Boston DIY scene while active.
Classically trained, Cossa has appeared as soloist with multiple orchestras and received a share of local and international competition awards before shifting his focus to Contemporary repertoire.
Jeremiah grew up in eSwatini (formerly Swaziland), where he began piano at age 5 and continued after moving back to the US at age 11. He holds a B.M. from Azusa Pacific University and an M.M. from The Boston Conservatory. He newly resides in Brooklyn.
Drummer Devin Gray travels from NYC, opening for Oakland-based instrumental quartet John Brothers Piano Company, a monumental staple in the Bay Area renowned for its high energy improvisational hot jazz play. Seating room on the side, dance floor in the middle, light bar service.

With their contributions, we will curate an evening you don’t want to miss: dramatic and heartfelt piano trios by Arensky, Piazzolla, and Montero; and wines that pair perfectly with the music to bring the experience to the next level. If wine is not for you, don’t worry! We have alcohol-free passes as well. Get your ticket, bring your friends, and indulge in an evening of the things that make life worth living: beautiful music, delicious food and drink, and good company.

Ardea Ensemble presents an evening of vocal traditions from around the world, featuring selections from Appalachia, The Philippines, Taiwan, Palestine Bulgaria, Ukraine, Georgia, and more. Our program focuses on themes of preservation, oral tradition, co-arrangement, and building solidarity, featuring new selections arranged by ensemble members Joe Galang, Sean Thompson, and Nuxia Peng.

About Ardea: Ardea is a Bay Area voice ensemble dedicated to exploring folk polyphony, voice traditions, and contemporary and classical composition. We place special emphasis upon using singing and choral traditions as vehicles for cultural and linguistic preservation, creative collaboration, music education, original arrangements, vocal exploration, and solidarity-building. Our current members are Joe Galang, Tasya Abbott, Nuxia Peng, Amy Loftus, Jordan Lowe, Sean Emmett Thompson, Rowan Katz, and Nuru Boone - each of whom are multifaceted artists, scholars, composers, and arrangers performing music in the Bay Area and beyond. Recently, Ardea has been honored to sing at The DeYoung Museum, Our Freedom Festival, and The Shop at 1525 Peralta.
